After attending church a few years, Larry was ordained as a Deacon and Tami began singing special songs as a soloist in the church. By 1990, they felt led to start a Bible Study in their home. As their knowledge of the Word grew and the group grew, they were licensed as Pastors in 1996. Services continued to be held in their home.
Eventually they out grew their home and a vacant church became available.
Stepping out in faith with only 20-25 people, they signed a lease agreement for the church, which could hold about 100 people. God catapulted their ministry to new levels. He caused their paths to cross with Drs. John and Rebecca Polis, Founders of Revival Fellowship, Int'!. In 2000. After much prayer, they partnered with them in December of 2001. Larry and Tami were ordained as Pastors under the spiritual leadership of Drs. John and Rebecca Polis. After only 3 years, the church could no longer accommodate the growth! They had to search for a larger facility. God led them to Aquia Towne Center. The owners refused at first to let them occupy space in the shopping center but Larry and Tami knew they heard from God. They reached with "faith believing" and God opened the door!
This was just the beginning of a series of miracles for Church on the Rock. Contractors donated time and money to the project and they got in without any debts incurred.
Church on the Rock's vision continues to expand as they search for property within Stafford County to build a new facility that will accommodate 1500 to 2000 seats.
