Many history-changing events have taken place in the world, but none that are more critical or as significant as Christmas and Easter. These events reconnected us to Heaven and gave us eternal life with a loving God. The world may celebrate bunnies and eggs and the coming of spring, which is fine. But the incarnation of the God of the universe and the resurrection of the only God of the world is almost to hard to believe or comprehend. Nothing can compare to the reunion of mankind to a supernatural God as a father, and as a family.
When I think of the true meaning of Easter, I want to fall on my knees at the cross and lift up my hands and weep and shout for joy all at the same time. I don't know that the world truly understands what this day really means, or comprehends what actually took place. I don't know that I can completely relate or explain everything that took place on this day. I don't know if anyone can. The earth literally shook!
Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is more than just redeeming mankind to God; it also was the transferring of power of the Holy Spirit that lived in Christ to all of humanity, to all those who did and will receive the finished work of the cross, by faith. Most of the Christian world sees the "internal life part" of the cross but has not comprehended the "power part" that is given to the body of Christ, which we are. Oh, to live as Christ lived when he walked the earth, to do what he did and even greater things--this almost seems like a myth. I want the world to know what Christ did and also what was transferred back to the body of Christ. As we reflect on all that Jesus brought to us through his obedient sacrifice, let's lift up our hands, fall to our knees and worship our God, our Lord and our Father.
