1 Samuel 16:7 For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
Too often we ask God to fix the problems around us when what He really wants to do is solve the problem within us.
You can pray and pray about your weight, exercising, healing, smoking, lack of money etc. Whatever it may be. You have dominion over your body. But one day, you will have to make a firm decision. You need to tell God, "I am not going one step further until I find out what to do about this!" Then you may want to go on a fast, shut yourself away from everyone, determined to hear from God. While you are fasting the Lord will reveal the real source of your problem.
Until you get serious about your weight, smoking, taking care of yourself, healing, lack, etc. nothing is going to change. You have authority over your body and your health. What you tolerate you will not change. If your prayers don't seem to be changing the problems around you, maybe it's time to take a look inside. Maybe it's time to ask God to go to work on the heart of the matter.
Confession: I am in charge of me. I love myself and I will take care of myself and I will renew my mind in the word of God.
