Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus as described in Acts 2:1-31. For this reason, Pentecost is sometimes described as the "Birthday of the Church". It was when God our Father sent back the Holy Spirit, after Jesus ascended into Heaven, to endue the disciples with power. That same Pentecost power is available to us today.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
John 14:11-13 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater worksthan these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
These and other scriptures in the New Testament are emphatic that we can and should do the things that Jesus did, and more. Somehow, when you teach this to the church, many think you are being sacrilegious, saying, "How dare you talk like that!" They think you are a blasphemer! They don't understand that it's not you or me doing the work, but the Holy Spirit. It worked the same way for Jesus when He was born as a man, but the Body of Christ, in general, has missed most of the meaning behind the power of the Resurrection!
It's time we attempt to step into the True Power that was demonstrated by our Lord. We need to be in prayer and fasting and conform our charter to that of our Heavenly Father. We need to be about His work--all God has called us to be and to do. Let's win the world by confirming our words with signs and wonders following. (Mark 16:20)
Arise, Church and let's win the world one person at a time, one city at a time, one state at a time!
Glory to our Resurrected Christ!
